Lafferty, Alma V.
Alma V. Lafferty was elected to the State House of Representatives of Colorado in 1908. She was re-elected for a second term in 1910. Lafferty ran for the State Senate in 1912, as a nominee in the Democratic primary. She did not win the nomination for the general election. Lafferty was Chairman of Committee on Education, a member of Committees on Appropriations, Judiciary, and State institutions. She was called the "Mother of Eight Hour Law for Women."
