Jessie O. Yancey was the County Superintendent of Schools of Mason County, Kentucky, serving two terms, from 1910 till 1918. She was the first woman to be elected to public office in Mason County. Yancey created a consolidated transportation system and supervised the consolidation of Mason schools.
