Rae Copley Raum ran for the office of mayor of San Diego, California in 1912, but withdrew in favor of another candidate, George Marston. She was the only life member of the San Diego Women's Press Club and also served as president of the same. She was also a life member of the Red Cross and Daughters of the American Revolution.
