Nora Colvin, endorsed by Labor, Democrats, and the Independent Democrats, was elected County Superintendent of Schools in Park County, Montana in 1900. Colvin ran for two additional terms. In the 1904 race she was endorsed by the Democrats and lost by one vote. She applied to the district court for a recount, and was subsequently declared the winner by five votes.
