Pearl Combs campaigned for the office of Clerk of the District Court in Jersey County, Illinois in 1877. Combs ran on the Prohibition ticket, but did not win the race. The following year Combs again ran for office, as Clerk of the Appellate Court in Jersey County. She was the Prohibition candidate for the office, but did not win the seat.
