Martha A.B. Conine
Martha A. B. Conine was the first woman elected to the Colorado House of Representatives, in 1896. She represented Arapahoe County and served from 1897-1898. Conine had been a prominent leader in the women's clubs of Denver before her election. In the state legislature Conine worked to establish assistance for young women who had in the juvenile justice system.
