Anna K. Colwell was elected representative to the Washington State Legislature in 1920. She represented Snohomish County. Although a Republican, Colwell was nominated by the Democratic Party and subsequently won the election for this party. She won election in April 1920, shortly before the ratification of the 19th Amendment.
