Eliza Boyd ran for County Superintendent of Schools for Albany County, Wyoming in 1872. Boyd did not win the race, but she did receive almost 49% of the votes cast. Boyd became of the first women in Wyoming to serve on a jury. In 1873 Boyd was nominated by the Woman's Party, along with Esther Hobart Morris, as a candidate for the Territory House. Boyd received only 5 votes.
