Mrs. Frances Emiline Beauchamp campaigned on the Prohibition ticket for Kentucky's Secretary of State in 1895. Beauchamp was a noted leader in Kentucky's Temperance Movement, the Assistant Recording Secretary of the National WCTU, President of the Kentucky chapter of WCTU from 1895 to 1923, and chairman of the state prohibition party. She was largely influential in Kentucky's adoption of the prohibition amendment in 1919.
