Anna Widman was elected Cherokee County, Kansas superintendent of schools in 1890, and reelected in 1892. She was the second woman in the county to hold this position. Sallie Hutsell (later Crane) had been elected in 1882 and 1884. After serving her two terms, Widman married Edward F. Wallace with whom she had a daughter.
