Smith, Lizzie W.

Lizzie W. Smith ran for Superintendent of Schools for Carbon County, Wyoming in 1882. She received more than twice the number of votes of her opponent. She was one of the first women in the state to be elected to office. Smith was elected for a second term two years later.
