Ida Bleakman (neÈ Cupon) was elected County Treasurer in Hardman, Morrow County, Oregon in 1918. She was married to county politician G.A. Bleakman, a Republican, who was nominated to run for county commissioner in 1922. The magazine Oregon Voter cited the Bleakmans' four children as one of the reasons Mr. Bleakman supported improving schools and building roads for Morrow County.
