Allen, Frances C.

Frances C. Allen was elected to the School Board in Akron, Ohio in 1895. A former teacher, she was one of two women elected that year to the school board. Supported by the women of her ward, Allen was elected in the first election after women gained the right to vote for the school board. Allen was a graduate of Farmington (Ohio) Seminary.
