Vilantha M. McFall was elected County Superintendent of Public Schools for Sully County, South Dakota. McFall was elected to the position in 1892, one of the first women in the state to be elected. It was reported that under McFall "a new and better course of study was published, and under her guidance and helpfulness, was introduced to the teachers throughout the county." She served in the office through 1896.
