Fannie M. Austin was the Peoples Party candidate for County Superintendent of Schools for Thurston County, Washington in 1894. Austin faced three other candidates, including two other women: Mrs. P.C. Hale (Democrat); and Amy Chase (Prohibition). All three women lost to the (male) Republican candidate.
