In 1914 Sena Hartsell Wallace was one of three women from Kansas to run for the U.S. House of Representatives. Wallace was a candidate with the Prohibition party, and came in last in the general election. For several years before and after the election Wallace was a lecturer and state organizer for the national Woman's Christian Temperance Union. She was a Prohibtion party candidate for Presidential Elector in 1920.
