In 1894 Cassandra T. Carr was a Prohibition party candidate for School Director on the school committee of the twenty-ninth ward of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Carr was a member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) and involved in several reform activities, including temperance.
