Mary T. Burton
Mary T. Burton was elected as Police Judge of Jamestown, Cloud County, Kansas in 1891. Burton was postmistress of the town at the time and had been the editor of The Kansan.  She was a strong supporter of Prohibition. One newspaper article reported that Burton's husband, a prominent politician, had died from the effects of alcohol.
