Ellis Meredith, a journalist and woman suffrage organizer, was referred to as the Susan B. Anthony of Colorado. She served as the vice president of the state suffrage association in 1893. In 1910 she was elected as an election commissioner and then selected as president of the Denver Election Commission, by her colleagues.
