Addie Smith ran for District Clerk in Lansingburgh, New York in 1880. She did not win the race, but received over 30 percent of the votes cast.
Stebbin, Jane
Jane Stebbin of Lansingburgh, New York was one of the first women to run for her local school board, in 1880. She did not win the race, but came in second with 60 votes. Ten women voted in the town for the first time.
