Cora A. Wilder was a Democratic candidate for County Clerk of Ontario County, New York in 1918. She lost to the Republican candidate, coming in second in a three-way race. Wilder worked as the abstract clerk in the County Clerk's office under several adminstrations beginning as early as 1898. In 1903 she received a twenty-five percent raise, but left the County Clerk's office by 1910 and opened a business, with a colleague, the Abstract Guarantee Company. By 1895 Wilder was a notary public. Wilder was active in the Universalist Church in her home town of Victor, New York.
