Edith C. Scott was the Republican candidate for County Clerk for Big Horn County, Wyoming in 1918.  She traveled all over the state campaigning in October of 1918. Scott had passed a civil service exam to prove she was competant to serve in the office. However, Scott lost to the Democratic incumbent Zela Murphy. Before her foray into politics Scott had been a school teacher in the area.
