Maude Gorham was a Republican candidate for State House of Representatives from Salt Lake County, Utah in 1914. She did not win a seat. Gorham was a graduate of Northwestern University of Evanston, Illinois. She moved to Utah in 1891 and taught mathematics at East High School for several years. Gorham organized the first day nursery in Utah and helped found the Infants' Protective Association and the Children's Service Society. She was a member of several women's organizations. Gorham served on the Salt Lake City Public Library Board from 1911 to 1942, and on the University of Utah Board of Regents from 1931 to 1949.
