Elizabeth Annie Wells Cannon was a Republican candidate for State Representative from Salt Lake County, Utah, in 1913. Cannon served until 1915. The following year she ran as a Republican candidate for State Senator from the Sixth District, but did not win the race. She was elected again in 1921. Cannon's relative Martha Hughes Cannon was the first woman in the U.S. to serve as a State Senator.
