In 1879 Maggie Windsor, the Peoples party candidate, was elected as County Superintendent of Schools for Spokane County, Washington. She ran again in 1881, this time as a Democrat, but came in second in the race with just over forty-four percent of the votes cast. Windsor may have married by the second race and was listed as Maggie Windsor Halsell.
