Ella H.J. Hill of Concord, New Hampshire was elected to the School Board of the Concord Union District in 1904. Hill was the president of the state federation of Women's Clubs and Vice-president of the New Hampshire Woman Suffrage Association. Hill's work was noted in an article in the October 1906 issue of The Granite Monthly, and called Hill, "a splendid representative of the best type of New Hampshire womanhood-in the home, in social life, and in active labor."
