Lena Bemis was the Republican candidate for County Superintendent of Schools for Adams County, Washington in 1896. She lost to the Populist incumbent. In 1898 Bemis ran for the same office, but in Lincoln County as the Republican candidate. She won that race and served for one term. In 1900 Bemis ran for an additional term, but lost to Democrat Alice Neal.
