Mary E. Frawley was the Democratic candidate for County Superintendent of Schools for Sweet Grass County, Montana in 1898, but lost to the Republican candidate Eva L. Dana. Two years later Frawley ran again for the office, but in Jefferson County. She lost to the Republican, Jennie E. Filcher. In 1914 Frawley lost the Democratic nomination in the primary races for the office in Musselshell County.
