Mamie B. Mills was the Populist party candidate for County Superintendent of Schools for Deer Lodge County, Montana in 1894. She lost to the Republican incumbent, Elizabeth L. Thomson. Mills ran again on the Populist ticket for the same office two years later. She lost again, but to the Democrat, Anna Quigley.
