Nellie O'Donnell
Nellie O'Donnell was elected as County Superintendent of Schools for Shelby County, Tennessee in 1888. O'Donnell was a long term educator in Tennessee and expanded the number of schools for white and black students. In 1908 she was elected as president of the state federation of women's clubs. In 1920 she was granted a license to practice law in Tennessee.
