Morgan, Rose R.
Rose R. Morgan was elected as the County Superintendent of Schools for Tuolumne County, California in 1876. She was the first woman elected to the office in the county and served for one term. Morgan was born in Australia and joined her family in California at about age 10. She died in 1913 in San Francisco from typhoid.
