Upson, Marie P.
Marie P. Upson was elected as the County Superintendent of Schools for Gage County, Nebraska in 1888. Upson attended Rockford College in Illinois in 1872, where she was a friend of Sarah Alice Addams Haldeman, a sister of Nobel Peace Laureate Jane Addams. Upson was later a member of the American School Peace League.
