Mary Devlin
Mary Devlin was the Democratic candidate for County Superintendent of Schools for Rio Blanco County, Colorado in 1895. She lost the race. After the election Devlin wrote a letter to the local newspaper accusing her opponent Dr. W. H. Young of religious intolerance and spreading false rumors about a take over of education by the Catholic church.
