Nettie (Antoinette) Karns was the Democratic candidate for County Superintendent of Schools in Ouray County, Colorado in1908 and 1910. She lost both times to the Republican candidate, Edith McIntosh. Karns was a school teacher in the county, and later served as a school principal.
