New, Ella

Ella New was was the Republican candidate for the County Superintendent of Schools for Delta County, Colorado in 1895, but lost to Emma G. Myers. The following year,1896, was the successful candidate in the race. That year New was a delegate to Republican party conventions. The following year she was a delegate to Silver Republican conventions. New ran for Superintendent in 1897 on the Silver Republican ticket, but probably did not win the race. In January of 1898 she was appointed as Deputy County Recorder, a hired position.  That year  New was the chairman of the county Silver Republican party.
