Blanche Chamberlin
Blanche Chamberlin (or Chamberlain) was the first woman elected as County Superintendent of Schools in La Crosse County,Wisconsin in 1919. Her cousin, Marion Bannach, had been appointed to the office in the previous year.  Chamberlin had been a teacher in the county for several, and later filled several other educational posts.
