Emma Sleeth was the Prohibition Party candidate for School Board in the First Ward of Arkansas City, Kansas in 1904. She came in second in the race. In 1907 Sleeth began work as the assistant Postmistress in the city. Sleeth ran again for the school board in 1908. Sleeth had served as the Matron of the Chilocco Indian School, where she had been one of the first teachers.
