Mattie (Matilda) J. Keith was the first woman elected to County Clerk of Elko County, Nevada in 1916. She campaigned on the Democratic ticket. Keith was born on Jun 1877 to Emma Keith. In the 1900 census, she was the oldest of at least four children. Keith likely never married.
