Mary A. Anderson was elected as City Attorney for Palmyra, Missouri in 1900. By 1902 Anderson had married and resigned from the office. She was admitted to the Missouri bar in 1899 at the age of 21. One report told of her driving through storms to get to her first campaign stop.
