Emma Ashburn was the Socialist Party candidate for County Superintendent of Schools for Montrose County, Colorado in 1908. She lost to her Democratic opponent, with only about fifteen percent of the vote. Ashburn reported that she spent no money on her campaign. Ashburn was a member of the local Woman's Christian Temperance Union.
