Annie M. Pollard was elected as one of the School Directors in the small village of Baltimore, Windsor County, Vermont in 1910. She served in this position for many, while also teaching in the local school. Her husband Walter was elected as Town Clerk at some point, and Annie served as assistant town clerk. Starting in 1933 Annie Pollard served for six terms in the Vermont House of Representatives. As assistant town clerk in Baltimore she gathered local records and composed a history of the area, which was published by her family in 1954.
