Maye Dixon Jackson was the Democratic Party candidate for Napa County, California, County Superintendent of Schools in 1906. Jackson won her race, but died the following year. A newspaper reported that Jackson had died at Burkes Sanitorium, suffering from nervous prostration. Jackson had served as vice principal of the St. Helena schools for nine years.
