Minerva Goodman was a candidate for the Stockton, California School Board in 1907. She did not win the race, losing to incumbent L. Clare Davis. Goodman served as the chief medical official for the Stockton School District. She was also involved with several California suffrage organizations, including the Stockton Equality Club for which she served as president, secretary, and public relations officer. As a physician Goodman helped established x-ray testing for tuberculosis in Stockton, and was physician to women students at the College of the Pacific. In her private practice her patients were Chinese, the poor, and needy of the city. She retired in 1962 at the age of 86.
