Young, Rachel

Rachel Young was elected as County Superintendent of Schools for Aitkin County, Minnesota in 1890.  She was the first woman in the county to serve in the office.  Young was elected for a second term in 1915.  She was born in Canada and moved the U.S. at the age of 20.
