Kate B. Beauchamp was elected County Superintendent of Schools in Spencer County, Kentucky in 1909. She was elected to a second term in 1913, and later for two more terms. Beauchamp was the third woman elected to the position in the county. Women served as County Superintendents from 1889 to at least 1925.
