Nannie Jones served as Superintendent of County Schools in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky from 1898 to 1902 and from 1902 to 1906. Jones married between her first and second terms as Superintendent. As such, she is recorded in 1904 as "Mrs. Nannie Jones Welch."
