Bargar, Mary

Mary Bargar was elected  City Clerk of Jamestown, New York in 1918. She was the Prohibition Party candidate, and elected over her Republican rival.  Two years later, in March 1920 even the Republican party endorsed her for the office.  Bargar was a school teacher in local schools for many years
