Elizabeth T. Stanley was the Prohibition Party candidate for State Superintendent of Public Instruction in Indiana in 1918.  Only one other woman candidate was nominated fior state office by the party before 1920.  She did not win the race.  Stanley was long active with the Woman's Christian Temperance Union and served as president of the state organization.  As a supporter of woman suffrage, Stanley gave speeches in various parts of the state.  Stanley was also a lecturer for the Farmers' Institute and a former school teacher.
