Emma Carlson, a Republican, was elected to the office of County Superintendent of Schools for Sedgwick County, Colorado, in 1916, 1918, and 1920. In 1916 she defeated Mrs. George Reed, a Democrat. She was single and lived with her family in Julesburg.
