In 1916 Pearl Bishop, a Republican, campaigned for the office of County Superintendent of Schools for Lincoln County Colorado. She lost to Miss Lennie Beavers, the Democratic candidate, who served the 1917-1918 term of office. Bishop was born in Iowa, and was married with two children.
